Dan and Jadyn met while attending college together at Sacred Heart University. Jadyn had been friends with one of the groomsmen, Matt, while Matt was in the same fraternity as Dan. They initially met at a party, where Dan caught Jadyn's eye. Shortly after this, Matt started bringing Dan around more and more until Dan was now in their group of friends. Among that group was Nick, who decided to tell Dan that Jadyn was interested and then told Jadyn that Dan was interested. And after 2 months of deciding whether or not they wanted to date or be just friends, Dan and Jadyn began dating in January of 2019.
During and after college, the two continued dating but with Dan being from Long Island, NY and Jadyn from Connecticut, they had to endure three years of long distance. During those three years, they studied abroad in Ireland together, traveled all over the country, drank many margaritas, cooked many meals and became parts of each other's families even before Dan made the move up to CT. They moved into their first apartment together in June of 2023, and soon after adopted their adorable dog Tallie in September of 2023.
Dan convinced Jadyn that he was bringing her along on a business trip to Reno, NV for three days. Once they got to NV, Dan had convinced her to make an hour and a half drive, after a very long day of travel, down to Lake Tahoe. After driving around and exploring, Dan and Jadyn decided to go to Emerald Bay, where they hiked a mile down the mountain to see the lake. Jadyn was looking for a less crowded spot to swim, while Dan was looking for a private spot to propose. They settled on a picnic table where a group of people next them asked if they wanted to see a bear. Jadyn of course went as close as possible, but as the bear started coming closer, wading through the water, Jadyn turned around to tell Dan that they should probably leave. Only she turned to see Dan barely on a knee as he said "But wait, do you want to get married?" and handed her a ring. She said yes. He then had to tell her that this was not a business trip, but an engagement trip and they had the best time that weekend celebrating their engagement.
